It's just like paintball.  But, instead of shooting paint at one another, the players use biodegradeable plastic bbs (washes away with the rain - not metal).  The price is half the cost and less messy than paintball.   And, instead of playing on little fields for paintball because paint can only travel so far,  we play on huge fields that are 10-15 acres wide and the plastic bbs travel alot further.  

The airsoft guns are made of polymere & have the weight & feel of real guns.  Airsoft guns are usually run by battery, air tanks, co2 or green gas depending on the type of airosft gun.  Airsoft guns are also made to replicate real guns such as sniper guns, M4 guns, pistols & shotguns.  In paintball, you have to be quick because the fields are so little.  Airsoft allows you to hide at much farther distances with your long range sniper airsoft gun or you can choose to run up closer to the opponent with your pistol, M4 & shield or melee plastic weapon of choice such as: plastic sword, plastic hatchet, plastic patty wacker or plastic meat hook.  

This sport is amazing for the whole family because you don't have to be athletic to dominate at Raptor Airsoft Field & Shop.  You just need to : pay attention to the rules, the new objective of each game, eventually learn to strategize & communicate with your team, shoot straight & hide well enough to not be hit by a biodegradable plastic bb!

All ages (7-90), mom, dad, brother & little sister can dominate on our fields!  You just have to figure which type of player style best suits your strengths!  If you are quick with your feet and love the risk of getting hit sooner than later, a pistol & M4 shorter distance airsoft gun may suite you.  If you love to lay low in the brush & keep your steps few, the snip gun is perfect for longer distance shooting that works great with our huge fields!

It's an interesting sport because you will see outfits that range from jean & t-shirt, military clothing, all black to a bunny outfit and huge pickle costume while shooting each other on the fields.  It really is a lot of fun!   

Full eye and mouth protection is the only thing required.  Just as your swimming goggles that you swim in the pool with fully seal your eyes, your eye protection must fully seal your eyes.  They must also be ballistic tested so when a plastic bbs hits them, they won't shatter.  And, you must cover your mouth to protect your pearly whites from being shattered.  It's really expensive to replace a broken tooth...  $50 vs $1600.  We sell eye protection and mouth protection in the shop or you can bring your own. 

You can wear whatever you would like.  Most just play with face protection but starting out, a general rule is to cover what you would not like to sting.  Tender spots are your forehead, cheeks, ears, neck, fingers and so forth.  Everyone's pain tolerance is different.  Bring a bunch of cover (thick clothing, layered clothing, gloves, scarves, ear coverage) for those parts to start the day and have a lighter layer if you feel you can handle the hits.  It does get very hot in Florida so keep that in consideration also.  We also sell a few vests, gloves and face protection in the shop.  

As you get more invovled in this sport, you will see what you prefer.  As a newbie, don't get fancy and buy a bunch of gear.  Just bring what you have from the house and then see what everyone else wears to get an idea what you prefer.  The only thing you may need to purchase is face protection and some gloves.

We sell foam/plastic melee weapons including: swords, baseball bats, pickaxes,  sledge hammers, crow bars, bayonets, meat hooks,  tomahawks,  paddy whackers, throwing knives & machetes in our shop.  Or, you can bring your own  meylees  and even shields to use on the fields .  These foam/plastic weapons are used to tag, not hit.

Melee Weapons: Inside of 10 ft, there is no getting within 10 ft unless you have a melee weapon. You are only to tag lightly, not hit another player with that melee weapon.  

Minors 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times on our private property.

A reminder to minors: it is imperative that during the game briefings that no one talk and interrupt the field marshal when he is trying to explain the boundaries, respawn locations, and new objectives of the game.  

If a player is found not knowing the game because they weren't listening, they will sit out.  It really ruins the game when folks choose to not listen to the new game and it does a disservice to other customers during the game.   Everyone has fun when they all know what's going on.  It's always the few who aren't listening during the briefings before the games that cause the most problems simply because they chose to talk with their friends or tune out during the most crucial time. 

Minors 9-12  years old must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older on the playing field or at the entrance of the playing field as an observer.  It is imperative that the adult is with the 9-12 year old at all times especially during game play.  

Observing adults (who are not playing) must wear eye protection, sign a waiver and do not need to pay admission.
